Kahok Nation,

Today marks the completion of the fourth week of the school year, and I want to compliment our students, staff and families for an outstanding start.

Every school year brings challenges, and this one is no exception.  However, this has been one of the best starts we’ve had as a district.  Let’s keep that momentum going!  One of the best ways to do that is by maintaining a consistent routine for your child, ensuring regular attendance, and reaching out to your child’s teacher or principal with any questions or concerns.  We are here to help.

While our primary focus will always be day-to-day academics, now that the school year is in full swing, very few evenings pass without something happening in our schools.  I encourage everyone to check the Kahok Athletics and school calendars so you don’t miss out on sporting events, family reading nights, or a fine arts performance.  You will not be disappointed when you see our students showcase their hard work.

Notable events on the horizon include the first home football game on Friday, September 12, at 7:00 PM against Carbondale High School.  The evening will feature a staff appreciation event, a halftime performance by the Marching Kahoks, and, of course, Kahok Football’s first game at Kahok Stadium this season. Please refer to the Kahok Stadium attendance guidelines that are attached.

In addition to athletics and fine arts, our students engage in numerous volunteer and community service opportunities throughout the year.

  • On Thursday, September 25, the CHS Interact Club, affiliated with the Collinsville, Maryville, Caseyville Rotary Club, will host a “Dine to Donate” at Agavero, with proceeds benefiting the Collinsville Food Pantry.

  • On Friday, September 26, the CHS Childhood Cancer Awareness Club will host their fourth annual Golden Game as the Kahoks take on Granite City.  All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude.

It is a joy to see our students thriving in the classroom, performing and competing, and giving back to the community.

Thank you for your constant dedication to our students and don’t forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!
