Last Friday evening, Collinsville CUSD 10 staff, students and supporters, along with the Collinsville Police Department and Collinsville Fire Department, demonstrated their support for Special Olympics of Illinois by taking the Polar Plunge.
The district's Kahok team raised over $11,400 in donations. The total raised by all three Collinsville teams was more than $19,000.
For those who were following the friendly competition between CUSD 10, CPD and CFD, the results were as follows:
Collinsville Kahoks $11,460 raised (229% of team goal)
Collinsville Police Department $4,685 raised (104% of team goal)
Collinsville Fire Department $2,995 raised (120% of team goal
While the school district came out on top, and CPD earned bragging rights over CFD, the real winners are the Special Olympics athletes!
