Renfro Elementary School kindergarten teacher Kelly Stirnaman was recognized today as January 2025 Kahok Educator of the Month.
The award was presented by Renfro Principal Laura Bauer and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Mrs. Stirnaman, Mrs. Bauer wrote:
"This year we would like to honor Kelly Stirnaman. She is a veteran kindergarten teacher who is willing to do anything at any time.
Kelly is the co-leader of our PBIS Tier 2 problem solving team. She is an OpenGate monitor every morning. She serves as one of our check-in/check-out teachers to connect with students. Kelly gets to work early every day and stays late. She is always the first person to volunteer to help in ANY situation. Literally any situation. If we are down a sub, Kelly will offer to help out (even though she has a room of 24 kindergarteners). If a student is exhibiting challenging behaviors, Kelly will offer to spend some time with that student.
Kelly always volunteers to help out at after school events. She is extremely accommodating to all students in our school. She always puts in extra effort to meet students' needs.
Mrs. Stirnaman could not be more deserving of this award and recognition."
Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10.
