Safety and Security

Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 places a high priority on the safety and security of our students and staff.

We have implemented a comprehensive school safety platform including:

  • Raptor Visitor Management System
  • Raptor Alert incident management mobile app
  • Safe2Help app and website for students to report issues
  • OPENGATE threat detection system

These tools are used throughout our district to streamline and integrate all aspects of our safety and security programs.  The Raptor Visitor Management System requires all visitors to show a driver’s license or state-issued ID before entering our schools.  The Raptor Alert app transforms smartphones and other mobile devices into safety assistants to take an active role in communicating during a crisis.  Safe2Help Illinois is a statewide program that offers students helpful resources and multiple ways to report mental health, bullying, abuse and other issues.  Safe2Help contact information is printed on the back of all student IDs.

OPENGATE THREAT DETECTION SYSTEM

For the 2023-24 school year, all CUSD 10 schools began using OPENGATE, a state-of-the-art, fully-open, walk-through detection system that is used by stadiums, arenas, schools, theme parks, hospitals and transportation hubs. CUSD 10 is one of thousands of districts throughout the country, state, and country implementing the OPENGATE system to better protect our students, staff, and visitors. OPENGATE is portable, and can be used indoors or outdoors. All CUSD 10 students and visitors will be screened when entering our school buildings or athletic venues.
