What is a Virtual Backpack?

The Virtual Backpack is the place to find electronic versions of the notes and fliers that would appear in a child’s backpack.

Because our district no longer sends paper copies home with students, our District Virtual Backpack has information about district and community events/programs of interest to families district-wide.  

Virtual Backpack Policy

Items included in the backpack are accepted and posted in conjunction with Section 8:25 of the CUSD 10 Board of Education:

“Community, educational, charitable, recreational or similar groups may, under procedures established by the Superintendent, advertise event pertinent to students’ interests or involvement.  All advertisements must (1) be student-oriented, (2) prominently display the sponsoring organization’s name, and (3) be approved in advance by the Superintendent or designee.  The District reserves the right to decide where and when any advertisement or flier is distributed, displayed or posted.”

While we appreciate everything local businesses do for our school community, we are unable to post information that advertises local businesses.

To submit an item for possible inclusion in the CUSD 10 District Backpack, please email detailed information - including acontact name and phone number - to Susan Frechman in the superintendent’s office: sfrechma@cusd.kahoks.org.  

Attach a PDF of the event flier and/or form to appear in the backpack.
