Portrait of Dr. Skertich, Superintendent of Collinsville Community Unit School District #10, with a message dated August 21, 2026.

Dear Kahok Families,

The 2026–2027 school year is off to a fantastic start! I want to thank everyone who helped make our first week such a success. Much of the work that makes a school year run smoothly happens behind the scenes, and we are grateful for the efforts of our custodians, central office staff, and our partners at First Student and Sodexo.

We also appreciate the hard work of our principals, secretaries, teachers, and non-certified staff. Their dedication begins long before students walk through the doors and continues every day throughout the school year. Thank you for everything you do for our students and families!

Fall Athletics & Activities are Up and Running

Now that the school year is underway, there is no down time. Middle school baseball, cross country, and softball are already in action. At CHS, football, cross country, soccer, and volleyball are also underway. I encourage our Kahok families to get out and support our students as they compete, perform, and represent our schools throughout the year. Your support makes a difference!

Don’t Hesitate to Reach Out with Questions or Concerns

As with every school year, questions, concerns, and challenges may come up along the way. When they do, please reach out to your child’s teacher or principal. We are here to help. We believe the strongest schools are built on strong partnerships between students, families, and staff. Please never hesitate to ask a question, seek assistance, or share a concern. Working together is essential to helping every student succeed.

Use ParentSquare for Communicating with School

One of the best ways to stay connected is through our district’s ParentSquare app. ParentSquare keeps families informed about what is happening across the district, at your child’s school, and in the classroom. It also provides an easy way to interact with posts, ask questions, and send direct messages, all in your preferred language. If you have not already downloaded the app, please use the attached information to get started today.

2026 Annual State of the District Update is Available

I have also included the 7th Annual State of the District Report. This report provides a snapshot of the many programs, services, and initiatives happening throughout our district to support our students and communities. It highlights important areas such as communication, curriculum, assessments, early childhood education, English Language Learners, professional development, special education, and current district initiatives. It also includes information about facility improvements, finances, student services, and technology.

Thank you for your constant dedication to our students.  Don’t forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!  #ONFRIDAYSWEWEARPURPLE
