Webster Elementary School special education teacher Robin Schomber was recognized today as October 2024 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Webster Principal Alison Schumacher and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Ms. Schomber, Principal Schumacher wrote:
It is my pleasure to select Robin Schomber as Kahok’s October Educator of the Month. It is evident that her dedication to and for the students of Unit #10 is and always will be one of her top priorities.
Robin’s compassion for the students, staff, and families is admirable. The way she cares for the whole student, regardless of their individual challenges, is inspiring. Robin is always willing to do whatever it takes for students to succeed with both SEL and academic goals in mind. She acknowledges their individuality and purposefully addresses their needs with dignity and patience.
Robin is an active participant and team player. She is one of the first to volunteer and assist where needed. She arrives at school first thing in the morning to prepare for the day and collaborates with multiple people throughout the day to ensure her student’s instructional time is maximized. She is on the School Leadership Team and leads by example. Robin embraces challenges with optimism and dedication as she does not hesitate to adapt.
Mrs. Schomber is held in high regard by the Webster staff and the education community. Her passion to help, her ability to inspire others, and her commitment to the values of education make her more than deserving of this award. Additionally, her positivity, friendly demeanor, and fresh perspective make her a colleague that everyone wants to be around. I am truly fortunate to have Robin as a staff member at Webster Elementary.
Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10.
