Kreitner Teacher Krista Basuel is December 2024 Educator of the Month

Kreitner Elementary School third grade teacher Krista Basuel was recognized today as December 2024 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Kreitner Principal Dr. Kari Daugherty and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.

In her nomination of Mrs. Basuel, Dr. Daugherty wrote:
Her co-workers praise Krista's consistent and constant advocacy for her students.  Krista creates an inclusive learning environment where every student has an opportunity to flourish, despite their differences.  She gets to know her students, makes connections, and builds relationships.  She maintains those connections and relationships even after her students move on to the next grades.  She is creative and finds new ways to bring her students' interests into lessons. She models kindness and empathy while guiding all students to be self-sufficient.  She ensures student success and is a great team member.  She's always willing to help out fellow teachers and is an all around good human.
