Reminder: Spectator Guidelines for Athletic Events at Collinsville High School

Posted Date: 8/30/24 (9:43 AM)

With the first Kahok Football home game tonight at Kahok Stadium, please take a few minutes to review Kahok Athletics spectator guidelines:

Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 wants to ensure athletic competitions at our schools are safe and enjoyable for participants and attendees.

We ask all spectators to adhere to the following guidelines:

SUPERVISION: All elementary, Dorris Intermediate School and Collinsville Middle School students MUST be accompanied by an adult at events. Parents/Guardians may NOT drop-off children and leave them unattended.  Children MUST be supervised for the duration of the event.

SCHOOL IDs REQUIRED: All students must show a school ID to enter the game.

VISITORS: Visiting students must sit on the visitors side, adhere to our school and district rules, and maintain a positive climate for our athletes and fellow spectators.

POSSIBLE REMOVAL FROM EVENT:  Any spectator who does not adhere to school rules may be required to leave the event.

SECURITY POLICIES: Spectators are required to adhere to the district’s CLEAR BAG policy and will be required to pass through the school’s Open Gate security system. (See details below)

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP: We ask those in attendance to show support for all performers and participants. Please demonstrate good sportsmanship toward athletes, coaches and officials.  Spectators can support their students by refraining from derogatory and negative cheers.

CLEAR BAG POLICY
Fans and visitors are allowed to bring CLEAR BAGS to Collinsville High School Kahok Stadium and Fletcher Gymnasium athletic events.

Any necessary bags - medically essential bags and diaper bags when accompanying an infant/toddler - do not have to be clear, but are subject to search by school/security personnel.

OPENGATE SYSTEM
Everyone attending CHS football and basketball games will be routed through the district’s OPENGATE threat detection system as they enter.

OPENGATE is a state-of-the-art, fully-open, walk-through detection system that is used by stadiums, arenas, schools, theme parks, hospitals and transportation hubs. CUSD 10 is one of thousands of districts throughout the country, state, and country implementing the
OPENGATE system to better protect our students, staff, and visitors. OPENGATE is portable and can be used indoors or outdoors.

Kahok Athletics asks for patience from Kahok fans and visitors entering school games. All guidelines and protocols are in place to provide a safe, secure and positive experience for student athletes and spectators attending events at Kahok Stadium and Vergil Fletcher Gymnasium.
