Collinsville High School drama students were honored by the Collinsville CUSD 10 Board of Education at the July 2024 regular monthly board meeting.

Recent 2024 graduates Dustin Taylor (costume design) and Keagan Greer (acting), and rising seniors Zach Roeck (acting) and Mya Parker (acting) qualified for international competition in the 2024 International Thespian Society Excellency Awards.

To qualify, each student received a superior at state level competition. Keagan and Dustin went on to earn Superior recognition at internationals; Zach and Mya earned Excellent-level recognition.

CHS Drama Coach Sierra Horst was very pleased with their accomplishments, "Last year was the first year we competed in the Thespian Excellency Awards and we had 2 students make it to the International level. Doubling that this year is so exciting! My co director Matt and I are so proud of our students. Their work ethic, creativity, and talent in the theatre arts is unmatched and we can’t wait to see where their theatre life goes. They are really putting the CHS Theatre Department on the map."

Each student was individually recognized by CHS Principal Dr. Daniel Toberman and given a certificated signed by Board President Gary Peccola and Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich.
